I am selling a brand new, 1:18 scale die-cast model of car #73 driven by David Hobbs in the 1974 Indianapolis 500. The model is signed by David Hobbs and made by renown and now defunct scale model builder Carousel 1 product #4802. This model is a discontinued limited edition and is very difficult to find. The fact that is signed by the man who drove the car makes it even more rare it may be the only one of this model signed by David! David Hobbs competed in Formula 1, at LeMans and in the Indianapolis 500 among other motorsport classes and events and he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2009. He can currently be seen commentating on NBC Sports Formula 1 broadcasts. As for the history of this item, I am a huge Formula 1 fan. I watch every practice that is televised, qualifying and race and have so for many years. Well, back in 2010, the long gone and missed SPEED Channel had an online Formula 1 fantasy league. The prize offered for being the number one scoring team for a particular race was this signed model. Before David Hobbs and Steve Matchett joined NBC Sports when they took over SPEEDs coverage of Formula 1 in the US, they commentated on Formula 1 for SPEED. The model has sat in its box ever since I won it. It has never been displayed. That isnt the "life" the model deserves. If you are interested in "setting it free", please message me.
